INCLUSIVITY = DIVERSITY

At what point in life does it become acceptable to tell people their views are wrong?

This is a question I don’t believe I’m going to be able to answer in one post. I struggle with this on a day-to-day basis. Being open and willing to listen to other peoples’ views, beliefs and so on is important but, personally, I struggle to be understanding when it seems at first glance that they are borne out of ignorance.

Instead of telling them their views are wrong maybe it’s time we show them how they can be different. We continue to spread the message of love over hate and we do not hide away our authentic selves for the fear of judgement.

The view of the world is ever changing, we are much more open and accepting of other peoples’ lifestyles than ever before. The world is becoming freer, we are happy to encourage people to love who they love, to not hide away from other peoples’ belief systems and to be kind to our fellow humans, regardless of their weight, the colour of their skin or how they choose to live their lives.

If you’re not hurting anyone in the process then who are we to judge?

As much as being understanding is an integral part of society, I will never understand somebody disliking, hating or abusing somebody for something they cannot control.

I strongly urge anybody who feels this way to ask yourself the following questions;

-          Are they hurting me or other people with their actions?

-          Does how they live their life affect my life in anyway?

-          Could I be kinder?

Kindness is a gift that should be given freely and positivity should be sprinkled everywhere. A message of inclusiveness should be conveyed to all children, they can only learn what we teach them and hate is not a family value.

Ask yourself - where will you sprinkle positivity this week?
